Líthica sees the quarries as a large garden resulting from the interaction between humans and nature, a site born out of a sunken area created by the extraction of stone, out of its subsequent use as an area of vegetable gardens, and out of a long period of no substantial human intervention during which nature recolonized the site.
The plant life of this quarry landscape is not homogeneous; it is rather a new game of opposites where two contrasting areas can be seen. While the inside area of the old quarries is very lush, the upper area of the excavated sites can be distinguished by its poor vegetation. Líthica´s work is carried out in both of these areas, giving each of them a differentiated approach with the aim of finding its integration and balance within the quarries.
